Health care in Alberta is in a period of rapid change, with many processes, organizations, and systems in flux. Hospital Privileges

Most applicants are recruited for Appointment through zone-specific processes that may vary by zone or by site. To apply for Appointment:

  • Applicants may be asked to complete the Request for Application Package form and submit it to the appropriate Zone Medical Affairs Office (ZMAO). The Application Package is then sent to the applicant for completion and submission to the ZMAO.
  • The Application Package may be supplied by the ZMAO as part of the recruitment process and would not require the Applicant to fill out the “Request for Application Package” form.

  • Generally, copies of the following documents are required:
    • Resume
    • CMPA proof of insurance
    • Medical licence
    • Three professional letters of reference

Workers’ Compensation Board – Alberta

Alberta Medical Association (AMA)

Job Opportunities

The Alberta Medical Association (AMA) is responsible for negotiating with the government on behalf of physicians in Alberta. They also manage compensation programs and offer billing help, assist with managing practical aspects of practice, and offer financial products such as insurance and investment services.
